Additional Information About The Insulation:

The insulation provides a "radiant reflective" insulation barrier.  There is metal foil on both sides of an air pocket that serves a dual purpose.  One, it reflects heat away from the dog house in the summer, and Two, it retains heat from the pet inside the dog house during the cold months.  It also slows the "heat transfer” to the inside in the summer.

If there is no climate control added to the dog house the inside temperature will eventually become "ambient" or the same as outside temperature.  Insulation slows heat transfer but does not eliminate it.  No matter what kind it is.  If it is your desire to have a big difference between inside and outside temperature some sort of heating or cooling device must be added to properly control the inside temperature.  Think of the dog house the same as a car or house, without proper heat or a/c, the house or car will be or exceed the outside temperature if left un-climate controlled. 

If these insulated cedar dog houses are used in conjunction with the Doowaggle climate control unit you are increasing the efficiency of the dog houses, which provides comfort for your dog in heat or cold.

So Why Cedar For My New Dog House?

Reason #1: Doowaggle insulated cedar dog houses are constructed with Western cedar which has been proven by the construction industry to be a durable wood with natural resistance (no chemical treatments) against premature decay, various insects (including fleas, ticks and destructive termites) and has a nice visual appeal.

Reason#2: Cedar does not require a lot of maintenance, if let untreated it will faint out like a pair of blue jeans after numerous washings. If you desire to maintain the rich look of the original cedar, simply apply a coat of sealer/stain. How often it is needed would be determined by how much sun the dog house is exposed to and the look you desire.

Reason #3: Cedar is an excellent wood as a natural insulation from the harsh elements. It will not heat up during the summer months like a plastic house will. During the cold winter months cedar will retain the heat from your dog better than plastic houses or other materials.
